Wabash National launching new product to improve fuel efficiencyLAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - The Lafayette manufacturer hopes a new product will help its bottom line. Wabash National is launching AeroSkirt as part of its DuraPlate line. West Lafayette, Ind. (AP) - Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame are getting $38.5 million in federal stimulus funds to study and develop new energy technologies. Purdue will get $20 million to design improved ways of converting biomass to energy, fuels or chemicals. Notre Dame will get $18.5 million to create advanced nuclear energy systems. LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - Seven more hybrid buses will be on the streets in the Lafayette area. City Bus unveiled the new units, which were paid for with 80% Federal funding. The five 40-foot buses and two 60-foot buses are in addition to the four existing hybrids the transit service already has in its fleet. The Recycling Organizations of North America (RONA), a new group, plans to provide a larger umbrella to the recycling industry than that offered by the National Recycling Coalition or Keep America Beautiful. RONA, which only recently filed articles of incorporation in Colorado, is trying to position itself as an inclusive group that will encompass Canada, as well as the United States.
