The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana is partnering with the Wesselman Nature Society to present a Regional Sustainability Conference this fall. The conference will be conducted on Wednesday, October 28 at the Centre in Downtown Evansville.
The “sustainability” movement is receiving a tremendous amount of media coverage in the United States, and throughout the world. Without question, change is in the air. More and more businesses and individuals are electing to be more thoughtful in their practices in order to reduce their impact on the environment. While this is great news, there is more at work here than simply doing the right thing. Progressive business people understand that the sustainability movement is real, and it is here to stay. It is being driven by public policy and changing consumer tastes and expectations. Furthermore, they understand that executing a business model that embraces sustainable business practices can add dollars to a company’s bottom line.
The agenda for the Regional Sustainability Conference will be well-rounded and informative. It will explore sustainable business practices, as well as sustainable community and economic development practices.
