The Indiana Green Expo (IGE) is Indiana’s most comprehensive green industry educational conference and trade show.  It is a time of education, new products and networking with industry members.  The IGE features approximately 300 exhibit booths and 2,500 attendees from Indiana and the surrounding states which include business owners, managers and staff of wholesale and retail nurseries, landscape management firms, greenhouse growers, golf course superintendents and staff, grounds maintenance departments, landscape design and installation firms, garden centers, consulting firms, educational institutions, suppliers and more!

Call for Applications Deadline is December 15

Five awards will be given to honor excellence in each of the following categories:

  • Water
  • Land
  • Air
  • Energy
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Any business, neighborhood, organization or individual is encouraged to apply; no project is too small.

Wind farm begins powering Indianapolis

A 106-megawatt wind farm built to give Indianapolis Power&Light Co. a new green supply of energy began operating this week in Northwest Indiana, one of several developments under way in the growing number of turbines in the state. The Hoosier Wind Project near Fowler in east central Indiana consists of 53 turbines and was built by enXco, which announced this week that the farm will be delivering carbon-free electricity to IPL. Indiana power plants 4th dirtiest in U.S.

INDIANAPOLIS — Coal-hungry Indiana ranks fourth in the nation for carbon dioxide emissions from mostly aging power plants that contribute to global warming, an environmental group said Tuesday.
