Attendees will hear experts in sound impacts discuss:
* The science of sound;
* Overview of wind turbine syndrome;
* Published research on sound impacts and how it is used to both support and deny claims of wind turbine syndrome;
* How the “nocebo” effect plays a role (A nocebo response occurs when the suggestion of a negative effect of an action leads to an actual negative outcome)

Format: There will be approximately 30 minutes of presentations followed by Q&A.

Event will feature two guest speakers; Cathy Tripodi Director of Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) Energy Initiative and Greg Ardisana, Think North America.

Meeting will focus on aiming to advance energy, economic, and environmental security on a local level. Along with promoting alternative fuel and vehicle usage, and fuel economy practices. Event will provide information on how cleaner fuels and vehicles, as well as non-motorized transportation options, can improve national security

South Shore Clean Cities is a U.S. Department of Energy nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the use of cleaner, domestic fuels and efficient vehicles to the transportation industry, government officials and the general public. We provide technical support to transportation professionals, advocate for sustainable transportation energy policies and serve as a resource clearinghouse for fleets, policy makers and the public.

Landscaping with Rain Gardens workshop

Registration cost: $50 per individual which includes handout materials, snacks, and lunch.

This workshop is for professional landscapers, garden centers, nurseries, landscape suppliers, park departments, groundskeepers, and others who may be asked to design, construct, or maintain rain gardens.

WHERE: J K O’Donnell’s, 121 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802 (Must be 21 to enter).    Look for the balloons at the tables!
WHO: Anyone working on environmental issues or studying them
RSVP: no need to let us know, just show up anytime between 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Each month there will be a sustainability topic/discussion at the beginning of each meeting. Green Drinks Fort Wayne is still about the informality of the event, however we wanted to bring in people from different areas of the environmental movement of Fort Wayne and hear what they are doing.

Coming in February ~ Renee Baines from Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation will be coming to talk to us about Salamon Farm, gardening classes offered by the city, and the Arobor Day events coming in April.
