A day of celebration, education, and action. This day will be followed by working groups addressing the details of our future. Transition Bloomington is working to unite the people of Bloomington to create a more resilient community, able to deal with the challenges of peak oil, climate change, and economic collapse. We expect that this process will also create a more connected and joyful community.

Baker & Daniels and B&D Consulting invite you to join us for the seventh webinar in our 2009-2010 series focusing on clean energy and climate change and developed by the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and the American Bar Association.
New technologies, new trading regimes, new laws and governmental regulations, new societal pressures and global geopolitical shifts necessarily give rise to new opportunities as well as new challenges and disputes. Taking steps to capture these new opportunities and at the same time avoid losses requires that the challenges and disputes be identified early and addressed appropriately. Areas for potential dispute - to be mitigated or addressed - include issues relating to trading of environmental attributes (such as renewable energy credits and the allocation of carbon risk), issues relating to wind generation and solar generation (including siting and ownership of environmental attributes). Uncertainty as to future regulation and changes in law present their own opportunities and risks that must be anticipated. Various options will be discussed throughout this month’s webinar.
Baker & Daniels and B&D Consulting will provide brief federal and state updates prior to the webinar (updates start promptly at 11:40 a.m. with the webinar beginning at noon). A light lunch is provided and networking and discussion will follow the webinar.
