Green Drinks is always the 2nd Tuesday of each month at a local bar/restaurant in downtown South Bend
We have a lively mixture of people from all walks of life. Come along and you’ll be made welcome. Just say, “Are you green?” and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It’s a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts.
Green Drinks is very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.

Ellen Jacquart, Director of Stewardship for the Indiana Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, will provide a presentation entitled, “Fighting Back - MC-IRIS Takes on Invasive Species in Monroe County.” A group of concerned citizens has formed Monroe County - Identify and Reduce Invasive Species (MC-IRIS) and is working to reduce the environmental and economic impact of invasive species in our county through education and action. This presentation will address why invasive species are a problem, and which are the worst invasive species in Monroe County. Information on how to identify invasive species and how they are damaging our natural areas will be shared. Have a weed on your land you want identified? Bag it and bring it to Green Drinks to find out what it is, and options for how to control it.

Agriculture is an important component of Indiana’s economy and a way of life for many Hoosiers; however, modern industrial livestock operations are not the solution to Indiana’s economic woes. In fact, embracing these new agriculture practices may cause more harm than good in the long run.
The Hoosier Environmental Council is hosting a free webinar where you will learn about the environmental problems inherent in the normal practices of confinement livestock operations. We will discuss how CAFOs add to air and water pollution from their largely unregulated waste management practices.

Indiana Green Business and Community Alliance and Green Drinks Indianapolis invite all IndyMetro green organizations to join “Green Drinks” monthly night out!
We think it will be beneficial for all the parties to unify the meetings of numerous local green organizations under one roof.
Every month green businesses and businesses that are interested in becoming more environmentally friendly meet at informal sessions known as “Green Drinks”. It is a self organized informal network with no membership or attendance fees.
Come along and you’ll feel welcome. We will make it a point to introduce you to whoever is there. It’s a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making “Green Drinks” an organic and self-organizing network. These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas and initiated business contacts at these meetings.
Events are held at different locations on the second Tuesday of each month. We have a short 15 minute presentation focusing on a different sustainability topic, such as energy efficiency, recycling, local food.
